Three Ways to Wear Lace

Boho

Put a twist on a stereotypical, lace dress by finding a style that has boho flare. This white, all over lace shift dress is perfect for this look.  The lace detail at the hemline and three quarter sleeved give it a casual, effortless feel. Since the dress is simple, you can add accessories to enhance the boho style. Leather sandals, jewel headpiece, stacked braided bracelets, & bangles are all great touches to complete your ensemble!

Classic

Keep it classic with a semi-fitted, fully lined, lace dress. A simple style allows you to add accessories to fit a specific occasion. Flat sandals are great for an every day look, while wedges are better suited for a summer wedding or a night out. You can play with jewelry to customize the dress to your own personal style as well as keeping a classic feel.

Edgy

Most people think that lace can’t be edgy, but with the right style and color it can be! A jewel tone, like this royal blue fit and flare dress, slightly hides the lace so it is not as obvious. The deep V-neck also gives it an edgier look. Add some chunky, metal jewelry and booties to accessorize the dress. The bold color and neckline combined with the delicate lace creates a look that makes lace edgy!

WCW: Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is not just a royal, public figure but also a style and fashion icon. She has strayed from the royal normalcy of fashion by wearing affordable designers and even wearing an outfit more than once. As if we didn’t love the Duchess already, making her style accessible to non-royals has made her even more likeable. People feel like they can really relate to her on a deeper level since she has made a part of her personal life, her fashion, available to us.
In terms of fashion, the thing that Kate is best known for is “recycling” her wardrobe. Unlike most of her predecessors, the Duchess actually wears an outfit more than once.  For example, Kate was spotted wearing the same light pink, Emilia Wickstead, pleated dress on two different occasions. With different shoes and accessories, no one would even notice that it was the same dress! (Until a side by side photo on the Internet surfaces.)
The Duchess is also a fan of purchasing designer clothing that doesn’t break the bank. One of my favorites is a Somerset by Alice Temperley, black, sail boat print, dress. Kate wore this ensemble to an 1851 Trust and Ben Ainslie Racing event in February 2015. The nautical inspired dress comes in at about $150, which is extremely affordable compared to designer pieces that the royals would usually dawn.
Kate is starting a fashion revolution by showing the public that to have great fashion does not mean that you have to have millions of dollars. Simple, classic, and affordable pieces can be paired together to create a stunning yet budget conscious wardrobe.

5 ways to wear a graphic tank:

1.     Dress it up with a blazer and work pants. For a more dressy- chic look wear your favorite work blazer for a day look and transition into night by pairing it with dress pants or a skirt and your favorite heels.

2.     Have a great pair of boyfriend jeans? Pair your new graphic tank from Lucky B with your ripped boyfriend jeans for a casual day look by adding tennis shoes or ballet flats to complete the look.

3.     Be comfy with a tank and leggings. Pair with your best workout shoes to stay comfy on the go while still staying trendy with your graphic tank.

4.     Pair with high wasted shorts to create a causal summer look. Throw on a light sweater for evening events and some booties to complete the look.

5.     Accessorize- Bold statement necklaces, bangles and stacked bracelets are a fun way to play up your graphic tank and offset the casual top by adding a creative flare to your look.

Victoria Beckham:
Fashionista, Spice Girl, philanthropist, and wife to the world’s hottest soccer star is this Wednesdays WCW. You can shop her chic (yet expensive) line here!

Going beyond the runway, Victoria has been involved in multiple philanthropic campaigns such as Save the Children, the Elton John AIDS foundation and working with PETA to promote faux/ synthetic furs.             As a mother, singer, wife, fashionista and philanthropist we can’t help but crush on Victoria (and her husband)!

Wearing Nautical:

Keep it simple- An anchor piece, stripes, a hanker chief and bold red are all great ways to amp up your nautical wardrobe. It is important to differentiate a nautical outfit vs. a sailor costume by keeping it simple with one of these looks in order to not look too busy.

Wear Stripes- Stripes are a great way to play up the nautical look and are always in style. A great striped blazer a white v-neck and jeans is an effortless outfit that can give you the summer sailor look you’re going for. Make sure to wear stripes that are flattering for your body type avoiding horizontal stripes in areas you prefer not to accentuate. Check out our great coral striped anchor tank here!

Nautical Colors- Hues such as light blues, navy blues, light yellows, whites and reds are a great
place to start when looking to create a nautical outfit. Or try mixing up the look by adding not-so-nautical colors such as orange, green or turquoise to really stand out. Check out our awesome light blue anchor tank here!

Anchors- Nothing says nautical like a anchor tank top, an anchor purse or and anchor pattern to pull your outfit together. Check out Lucky B Boutiques new nautical wear here to complete your summer wardrobe with our awesome anchor shorts!

New Trend: Matching Sets

This season, what’s becoming more and more trendy are matching sets (i.e. whatever print, whatever color, there are two pieces and you wear them both!). In a branch-out movement from the usual matching pantsuit or blazer and skirt combo for business events, matching sets have taken the runway by storm. And thus, making it a trending street look. These looks come together with the pop of the pattern and the fierceness of how much it’s used in just one look.  Check out Lucky B’s matching sets online!!!

#WCW: Audrey Hepburn

It's Wednesday and time for our #WCW post!!!! This week Audrey Hepburn and her contribution to our modern day life is the main event!

She was not only inspirational in film but also in theater and as a philanthropist. Even not with us here today, her name is still revered as is her style, acting career and philanthropic contribution. Hepburn is one of the very few people to win an Emmy, Tony, Grammy, and Academy Award (Oscar).

As a survivor of World War 2 living in an Nazi occupied country while being a supporter of the Resistance, she ended up thriving after the war gaining roles that eventually lead to her being a world wide phenomena.

After her last screen role, Always (1989), Hepburn took to helping children by becoming a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF. She travelled all over the globe to raise awareness about children in need and even after she passed from colon cancer in 1993 her legacy lives on with the Audrey Hepburn Children’s Fund created by her family in her honor. This legacy of hers will undoubtedly live on forever and so will our love for this #WCW!

Be Black and White Without Being Boring:

Textures are a big role in playing up a black and white outfit. Be bold by pairing two textures. A mesh lined collar on a basic black jumpsuit ups the style factor.  You can also add texture via accessories which can be seen in our Black Lasercut Heels with a touch of gold on the buckle.  Adding a variety of textures within a monochrome look helps to keep the eye moving and create break up points in the look.

Adding prints goes a long way with black and white. Look cool with graphic styles, play around with polka dots, keep it simple with stripes or floral with flowers. Whatever you do you can guarantee a stylish outfit by adding prints to your black and white outfit. By doing this you can still get creative with your look while keeping it classic with black and white.

To conclude your black and white look, accessories with a bold white necklace, some strappy black sandals, a pattern scarf or a black and white bag. If you have yet to add pattern or texture to your monotone outfit this is your chance. Even a great pair of bold sunglasses or a fun hat can spice up your look.

"Women think of all colours, except the absence of colour. Black has it all. White, too. Their beauty is absolute. It is the perfect harmony. –Coco Chanel
