Easy Ponytail!

 Easy Messy Ponytail!

Need a cute hairstyle for a busy morning or simply just looking for a new hairstyle? Here’s a cute and easy natural looking ponytail tutorial for you to try!

     1. Divide your hair into three parts. Take the middle bunch of hair to make a medium height ponytail.

     2. Take your side hair to the back of your head, and tie it over the middle ponytail, creating a “mini” ponytail.

     3. Take the “mini” ponytail from step 2, and flip it from the bottom to top, making a twisty look.

4. Make a little space between the middle ponytail from step one. Take the twisted “mini” ponytail though the space between the middle ponytail, and tighten the middle ponytail so it’s not loose.

    5. Do you notice the end of the “mini” ponytail dangling? Take that end of hair and wrap it around the middle ponytail’s hair tie, and pin it so it won’t fall apart.

   6. Fix any parts of your hair that you need to, and wallah! Now  you have mastered a natural looking ponytail!

Tips:

By curling your hair beforehand, you can get a messy, flowy looking style. If you’re looking for something more classy and elegant looking, try straightening your hair before creating this ponytail look!
Ponytails are great for helping to make your neckline standout, which are a perfect match with our strapless rompers, jumpsuits, and maxi dresses!
Tell us what you think by trying this hairstyle with your favorite LuckyB outfit!

Two-Tone Pearl Nails

A couple blog posts ago, I wrote a blog about some tips when doing your nails. So, this time when I did my nails, I decided to try using some tips that I found, and created this fun and girly two-tone look.

What I did

1.  I filed my nails to a box shape
2.  After filing and putting on hand cream (it’s healthier for your nails to moisturize), I applied a coat of baby pink polish
3.  After the first coat of nail polish dries, I gently laid a piece of masking tape on my fingernails
4.  I painted a beige polish over my nails, and removed the masking tape carefully after the nail polish dried
5.  Using a toothpick, I drew a straight line across the split of the two manicures with a thicker consistency of glitter nail polish
6.  After the glitter nail polish dried, I used a tiny bit of super glue to attach a bead on the middle of my finger

What I Learned

When you’re using masking tape, make sure the first coat of nail polish is COMPLETELY dry before applying it. I learned that the hard way when I peeled off the masking tape and saw my nail polish got smudged…
Also, toothpicks were a wonderful tool to work with, when I needed to remove any excess nail polish on the side. I was able to utilize a toothpick for tiny details too, making my nails look a little more like they were professionally done.

All About Nails!

 All About Nails!
Fashion starts from your fingertips. Just having your favorite nail polish can brighten your day and make you happy! (well, at least for me)

But…don’t want to spend your hard-earned money on a mani or pedi? Well, here are some secret tips to have amazing nails without having to go to the salon!

Masking Tape
Masking tape’s a great tool to use when creating abstract designs or french nails. You can simply put a piece of tape over your finger and paint nail polish over it. Here are some unique design ideas using masking tape.

  1.  Fold a piece of masking tape in to half

  2.  Cut out half a heart

  3.  Unfold the heart, and apply it on your nail

  4.  Apply a coat of nail polish

  5.  After the nail dries, gently remove the heart from your nail using a tweezer

  6.  Trace the outside of the heart with a darker shade of manicure using a toothpick

  7.  You’ll have girly nails like the photo on the left!

1.  Select your favorite masking tape

2.  Cut two large rectangles and two small squares

3.  Cut out two large square sheer matte masking tape

4.  Apply the two colored masking tape so that the corner tips are touching

5.  Apply the sheer square masking tape on the middle of your finger

6.  Apply a coat of top coat

7.  Enjoy your vivid color nails like the photo on the right!

   1.  Cut out a square piece of tape

   2.  Apply super glue on the surface of the piece of tape from step 1

   3.  Using a pair of tweezers, carefully lay down your choice of beads

   4.  After the beads dry, lay the tape on your nails

   5.  Apply top coat

If you don’t have any masking tape available, you can create your own “masking tape” by painting nail polish on the surface of a piece of tape, and cutting out desired shapes.

Here are a couple of secret tips to make your nail painting at home a little more easier!

 Quick Dry
No more hassle drying your nails by blowing on your nails hard! After you apply nail polish, let your fingers dry for about 2~3 minutes. Then soak your fingers into a bowl of ice water for about 3 minutes.

Matte Nail Polish
Oh no… Wanting matte nails but don't have any coast? Try mixing a pinch of cornstarch with a clear top coat. This will provide the same finish as matte nail polish!

Removing Nail Polish
Here's another way to utilize your empty mason jars!

   1.  Squeeze two rectangular sponges in an empty jar.

   2.  Make sure there’s enough room to stick a finger in!

   3.  Soak the sponges with nail polish remover.

Whenever you want to remove nail polish, just put your finger in the jar!

Baby Powder Magic!

Baby Powder Magic!
For those who are troubled by acne or oily skin, baby powder is like magic for your skin! With these two easy steps, your skin will be flawless.

Step 1. Cleansing
After removing your makeup, try adding a teaspoon of baby powder to your everyday facial wash. Add warm water and make the soap foamy, then apply the foam to your skin and scrub gently. After this, rinse off the foam with cool~cold water.

Step 2. Milk & Baby Powder Facial
After washing your face, apply this DIY facial mask that will help reduce redness and make your skin smooth. You’ll only need two ingredients, milk and baby powder, to create this perfect facial recipe.
Add two table spoons of baby powder to little over a 1/2 cup of milk, and mix these two ingredients together. Tadah! How easy was that? Now just apply this freshly made paste to your face, and leave it on for about 10~15 minutes. Before the paste starts to dry, remove it by rinsing gently cool water.

Have your own spa day at home!

~Other Useful Tips Using Baby Powder~
  • Set your makeup. Just apply baby powder on your face with a puff, after putting your foundation for longer-lasting results.
  • Use baby powder after applying moisturizer to your skin to prevent stickiness when you’re trying to get a pair of jeans on in the morning.
  • Use baby powder as dry shampoo. Do you have one of those days where you’re just not up to washing your hair? Baby powder will temporarily absorb oil making your latest blowout last another 24 hours.
  • Make your lashes fuller with baby powder following these three easy steps:
    1. Apply your usual mascara
    2. Before the mascara dries, apply baby powder on your lashes using a Q-tip
    3. Apply a second coat of mascara
